Had we not decided to take this house sit we'd NEVER have experienced one of the friendliest neighbourhoods we've ever visited. Every time we walk the dogs, Basenji and Blaze ... Blaze is the Basenji www.dogbreedinfo.com/basenji.htm ..... Basenji is a Basenji/Australian Shepherd cross and you think you're confused try being us ....anyway back to the story, everyone we meet and I mean everyone waves, smiles and says Good Morning, Afternoon, Evening or just plain Hi Folks it's refreshingly brilliant ...... In the 50's and 60's this area of Southern LA was known as the Black Hollywood, Ray Charles, Ike and Tina Turner, Mohammed Ali and many other celebrities, sports starts and high profile African Americans called it home.

Thank you for writing that Angelenos are friendly. We always hear in the US at least how friendly they are in small towns and not so in big cities. Generally, I've found people are people (you have much more experience in the area than me). If you're friendly, most people will be friendly back.
