What are the odds? I'm on Santa Monica Prom and get asked by a couple of fellow Brits if I'd take a photo. Usual conversation "Where Are you from etc" turns out they hailed from Essex, yes I admit it I have a connection, my daughter's a vet there:)) Anyway then we get to the why I'm in SM, the word Housesitting is mentioned "No kidding we were only talking this morning about doing that when we retire" ... 20 mins later we "wilted" company, well it was 100+ degrees and we weren't in the shade!!
So after meeting the Essex couple I stroll around SM, remember it is 100+ plus, get my lunch to go then head back to the car park unbeknown to me there are 4 identical multi story CP's in Santa Monica all within 4 blocks of each other, I just happened to choose the wrong one (didn't know that at the time obviously otherwise would have been in the right one) for almost 30 mins I was convinced my home owner's (and now dear friends) car had been stolen. I almost expired not only from the heat but my racing heart and BP .. I'll not reveal how I found the car, far too embarrassing, after all things like that never happen to moi!!
There must have been something in the air, stars or it was simply confused karma that day as a friend and I went to the movies in the evening and when we returned to her car she couldn't find her keys, anywhere, we were about to go back into the theatre to search around the seats when I glance down and there were the keys underneath the front tire also what we hadn't seen (it was too small) was a note on the windshield telling Jerri where the keys were.
Some dear, kind soul had found them ...... thank you, thank you, if only you had left a phone number.
Sometimes we just need to be reminded we are indeed human and there are honest kind people all over ...."To err is human; to forgive, divine. Pope.
