I've come to Hay on Wye for a couple of days to help a friend who's going through a tough time this morning we drove up into the hills for a walk on the Begwns National Trust Park and visit the "Magic Roundabout" built by volunteers and staff to celebrate the millennium. A stone circular seat designed by a local architect was also built in 2000. The views are spectacular and you can see from Hay Bluff all the way to the Black Mountains in Carmarthenshire with the Brecon Beacons in the centre. There are wild ponies and sheep of course ... this is Wales after all.
When we arrived up on the hill this sheep dog came towards the car, with purpose he was looking for someone, expecting to find someone that much was obvious but we weren't his people so he moved on what disturbed me was his condition there are many farms in this area and sometimes farm dogs are "left" when they are too old to work, when they out live their usefulness, after all it costs money to keep a dog even one that isn't kept how we would care for our pets.
I called him, he said hello (with his tail) and continued on his search. We walked for at least an hour and on the way back there he was again, still searching. I took the strap off my camera, fashioned a leash and tried to coax him to the car when that failed Angie brought the car to us, I picked him up, with caution after all I wasn't sure how he would react, he was fine so gentle, so tire, so hungry and thirsty.
He's now at Hay Veterinary Clinic waiting for his owner, if they can be found. He's an elderly dog and deserves to be safe, loved and cared for ..... PLEASE, PLEASE Micro chip pets, identify them in some way because if you love them and they get lost you will have then returned safely and quickly avoiding stress for them and yourself.
PLEASE PASS THIS MESSAGE ON ....... THANK YOU
