Now I know a LOT about pets and pet sitting, houses and house sitting but computers afraid not straight over the head like a 747, or rather a Dreamliner. Now don't get me wrong I wish I could get to grips with technology almost as much as being able to speak another language fluently unfortunately it's the age folks, I'm more at home with a STONE tablet and chisel and shock, horror, actually enjoy connecting with people more than machines. It really ticks me off to see families, couples and friends sitting in restaurants and public places communicating on their devices but not with each other, I often wonder what happens at home does anyone EVER speak, err with each other???
Anyway I'm stepping off the soap box just to say I've spent more hours in a well known US retailer of all stuff technological this week than I care to think about. Four lap tops later, a replaced hard drive in my computer, a Bose Mini Soundlink linked up (or in not sure of the correct term) after much "Yes it has", "No it hasn't" by the experts. Honestly I feel like I've wasted a week, spent an eternity looking at pieces of "stuff"which have unfortunately and annoyingly become a rather important means of communication for me ... from a pet and house sitting perspective you understand. Finally I can report all was not a waste of time I have a new lap top in fact I now have two, the old one's as good as new. Now if someone can just do a magic wand act on me as far as Windows 8 in concerned I may just start to enjoy it .... the new machine that is.
Thanks Geek Squad ..... job well done!!
Meanwhile spare a thought for John and Bruno in Spain. The day after John arrived at our Spanish assignment Bruno had a stroke, common apparently in elderly dogs (as in people) he's getting better as the vet said he would once he adjusted to the physical effects. In a few days I'll kiss Stella a loving farewell until next time, there will be a next time, promise because I leave for Spain with my new lap top ............ blogging should be easier!!
