From El Sobrante our next sit was just across the bridge to Mill Valley a lovely home up in the hills where two kitty cats were waiting for our company. Sunny days, cool misty nights typical of this area of N California we could hear the Golden Gate Bridge fog horn most days. This home away from home was so close to many great places to visit. Stinson Beach, Muir Woods, Muir Beach, San Fransisco either by ferry or short drive, Tiburon and Belvedere, home to the San Fransisco Yatch Club. Tiburon is beautiful, very Mediterranean with views across the Bay to San Fransisco, lovely restaurants, bistros and wine bars we spent a whole day just wandering through the narrow tree lined streets .... proving that America hasn't entirely been taken over by strip malls and Walmart!
Mill Valley is another lovely small town we had dinner in a really buzzing, trendy Bistro and bar http://www.balboacafe.com/mill-valley/ on the evening the town had hosted a Gourmet Food and Wine market ... bet there were some sore heads in town the next day, not us of course.
Our two weeks looking after Mister and Missy were lovely we had nightly bed pals, when Mister decided to stay home, that is. Typical male pussy cat, sleep all day prowl all night, Missy was the stay at home "I'm sleeping with you" type. The way they greeted each other every morning was so sweet, almost like she was asking where he'd been all night.
One of our instructions was to leave the balcony door ajar for the cats, they had express house access up a very tall tree ...watching them descend (even though they ARE cats) raised the pulses and blood pressure that's for sure. Anyway this access was also very convenient for some of the local wildlife, racoons for example I walked into the kitchen one night in time to see Rocky Raccoon helping himself to the buffet on offer, a regular occurrence apparently they even enjoy the odd wash and brush up in the cats water bowl!!
So our two weeks came to an end, time to say goodbye to the pussy cats, prep the house for the homeowners homecoming and pour our belongings back into the shoe box. We`re heading to Bakersfield to see friends, on to Vegas to visit with other friends then LA at the end of the month for a three week doggy and house sit ...... oh and it's VERY hot where we heading glad there's a pool at both locales:))
