Here are some beautiful words written by a very dear friend reflecting the loss of his beloved cats. Our world's really OK when we have their presence but when they leave for the "Bridge" it, we, change forever. To try and heal the pain we may fill the void with a new furry one or begin a new journey caring for others furry kiddies which is what John and I chose, either way getting the joy back into our lives that only an animal can bring is all that matters .............
"For the first time in over 25 years there are no furry feet roaming the corridors of our home and our lives. No plaintiff plea to move more quickly with breakfast that is already 20 minutes late. No casting an eye of disapproval at what is offered on the menu. No 'snails with tails' curled up before the stove reveling in the warmth and contentment of a nap before the flickering flames. No buzz of pleasure as they lay beside you in bed or on the couch. No full body and leg stretch that brings them from their slumber. No eyes forever asking questions of you. No gentle touch of a paw or any of the small gestures that say with total sincerity that they accept you unconditionally into their lives.
We miss them - our lives are diminished because they are not with us.
All our guests bring us joy - some when they come - some when they go.
There is no joy here after their departure."
