Yes that is the Hollywood sign off to the left, hopefully my hair will look better when I walk the red carpet on Sunday .... humour me folks! I do have a posh frock and a couple of pairs of Loubies, that qualifies me, right? Fact that I'm not a celeb, Z or otherwise, haven't produced or directed anything although there was"Hectors Happy Heart" circa 1982 Just for fun Theatre School, Leduc Alberta, is just a minor detail. I have dined (in the same restaurant) with Mr Clooney whilst he was filming the Descendants in Hawaii .......Not working is it?
Anyway reality check, flew West Jet (excellent service) from BC to CA yesterday afternoon, leaving John and Grandson Benjamin (in peace) having to fend for themselves. Arrived in La La Land early evening, flying over the city all freeways and major roads look like landing strips, solid red and white lines for a far as the eye can see, really wouldn't want to do THAT commute everyday!
My home owners had already left on their trip so the gorgeous Miss Stella was home alone. She hadn't seen me since October. After five minutes of "Who's this strange person in my house" the penny dropped, or should I say my dulcet tones got through her woolly ears, and in between barks and shrieks of delight she gave me an enormous, wet lick welcome! Called Mum and Dad to let them know I'd arrived and baby was happy, unpacked and settled down to watch some telly, Stella keeping me warm (LA gets cold at night) Why is it that one television requires four remotes and sound comes out with no picture and vice versa .... now in my day of steam television we had an on/off switch and a little white dot which eventually disappeared letting you now it was dead .... no such thing as stand by.
Drove to West Hollywood to check out the Kodak Theatre and make sure the red carpet was laid properly. What activity for four full blocks around the theatre, security everywhere can't have the "public" walking on that carpet now can we ..... who is it that makes these movies profitable?? It's fun though, everyone needs to escape into a fantasy world every now and then. Stopped and bought a bottle of bubbly which I'll crack open and enjoy on Sunday whilst watching from the comfort of an armchair just thirty mins away from where the real show will be happening.
And I would like to thank .......:))
