"Until One has loved an animal part of their soul remains Unawakened"
"I spoke to Dr.Miller and he praised you to the sky I know Mitzi is in the best of hands I can never thank you enough" ....... Terry B. New York USA
Through the years our own pets have given us immeasurable joy, laughter, tears and love. Watch the video at the bottom of this page John on the trampoline keeping Biscuit amused we'll go to any lengths to keep your furry ones happy! Our Holly, pictured at the top of this page, taught John just how deeply one "heart" dog can bless a life. Each and every animal has it's own personality, even within the same breed or litter. Privileged to have shared our lives with many breeds of dogs, cats and at least six Springer Spaniels our experience is wide and varied we're especially very knowledgeable and familiar with gun dogs and working breeds.
Volunteering with animal welfare organisations has given me experience and training in problems associated with rescue animals. Shelter animals come in all shapes, sizes, ages and health conditions all require careful, patient, kind and yes sometimes firm care. Many of the dogs we care for have health issues from mild to chronic and whether these are dietary or conditions requiring oral or injectable medicating, we're more than capable of handling the responsibility. Holly had many health issues including pancreatitis, allergies and, at thirteen years old, a brain tumor.
I've also been lucky enough to be chosen by cats in my life, yes I believe they choose their humans. Dogs have owners, cats have servants! During our house sitting adventures we've been servants to many felines, less demanding of one's time but no less lovable. Some of the kitties we've cared for have also had health issues requiring medication, slightly more challenging than medicating dogs but we have the knack and the owners invaluable instructions.
Discovering ponies as a little girl equine love has stayed with me, owning and riding horses most of my life. I still ride when I get the opportunity. My last equine assignment was with two very handsome Tennessee Walking Horses, Bolero and Tango, big boys but incredibly well behaved and like "putty" when being groomed. While on assignment in Spain looking after Bruno another rescue pet John and I have been volunteering at A.R.C.H. a horse rescue charity started five years ago by two English ladies, Jill and Claire please visit the website www.horserescuespain.org and Facebook page to see the amazing work they do sometimes against all odds.
